About Alana

Growing up in the Bronx, I was exposed to different pockets of the world. Exposure to different types of people enabled me to be in tune with the experiences of others, helping me make meaning of my own experience as a Black woman.

Yet, with the privilege of attending college also came a reinforcement of my otherness as a Black woman in the U.S. I attended a predominately white institution where my presence was the most exposure students and some faculty had to difference. This is where my DEI journey began.

Immediately, I recognized how I wanted to contribute to a more just world through connection and education.

I was heavily involved in DEI efforts throughout undergrad and graduate school. I felt I had found my calling as I dove into DEI internships, program development, collaboration, and research.

Over 15 years DEI Experience

Today, I’ve been in the DEI space for over 15 years. I continually subscribe to being a world citizen and seek meaningful connections with those embarking on their own DEI journey. I value literature and research and use the behavioral sciences approach in my work.

Always intentionally authentic, I’m also a dog lover, traveler, baker, eater, and runner. And I love working with creative problem solvers who believe that respect, authenticity, innovation, and fun are core to human-centered companies and organizations.
